Village Events

Ettington is a lively and vibrant village with residents from all ages and walks of life coming together to ensure community is at the heart of the village.

The school PTA, Preschool fundraising group, Church PCC and First responders have regular social events that take place throughout the year.

A taste of these includes ‘Sax and Soul’ in aid of the school- this fabulous event was held at the community centre and was enjoyed by over 150 residents raising £2500 for school funds.

During advent the church hosted another fantastic night with our friends ‘Blackheart’ a folk duo whose rise to fame as been a delight to be part of. To find out more about this wonderful duo follow the link. https://www.blackheartmusic.co.uk/

On a more regular basis the church is involved with the following community events.

Coffee and chat- Book Swap Ettington Community center 10am -12noon every Monday

This informal coffee morning is a great opportunity to meet up with new and old friends in a relaxed setting where you will be treated to free tea or coffee and if you are lucky a bacon butty or warm croissant may also be waiting for you. During your visit you can browse the ever growing shelves of books that encompass all sorts of genres. As local libraries face closure, community book swaps are becoming more important for those of us who enjoy reading. The community center has also installed an internet linked computer for use by those who visit the book swap. It is hoped more computers will be installed soon.

Ettington Prayer Walk.

On the first Thursday of every month, a small gathering set off from Ettington churchyard to walk the beautiful village of Ettington. On our way we chat, pray and stop to talk with those we meet along the way always offering to pray for them if they wish.

You may see us sat on the bench outside the pub or the school or lingering by the community centre as we offer our prayers for the village and for individuals we know to be in need. If you would like to join us we meet at 9:30am in the churchyard and usually finish around 10:30am.

If you would like us to pray for you or for a situation you are aware of please contact Nikki on 01789 740308 or text 07891 012660.
